***Family:
→ The Father -- Edward Joshua Montgomery: Edward Montgomery is an upstanding British Pureblooded wizard. He comes from a long lineage of Pureblooded Ravenclaws
→ The Mother -- Evie Bethany Montgomery (née Walker): Evie Smeeton is a muggle-born witch, who never really believed in any sort of magic or funny business until she received her letter from Hogwarts at the ripe age of eleven. At Hogwarts, Evie was sorted into the Hufflepuff house. She was quite the average student, and she even struggled a but just because she was muggle-born, and had never been exposed to the idea of magic. She really liked Charms the best though. Evie got decent scores on her OWLs and NEWTs, and moved to downtown Wizarding London after Hogwarts. She worked in a shoppe in Diagon Alley, where she met Edward Montgomery. They pair soon began to date, and within a year and a half were engaged to be married. Their first child, Madison, was born in 1978. Madison (or Addie, for short) always got along well with her Mum. The Montgomery family was always a loving, supportive one. Evie was a stay-at-home Mum, so it only made sense that Addie was closer to Evie than Edward. Addie always had a cordial and respectful relationship with her mother. They were never the Gilmore Girls/best friend type, but in a pinch, Addie knew she could always turn to her mother. After the birth of Addie's younger sister, it was said that Evie couldn't have any more children. That's why her pregnancy nearly a decade later was so surprising. Evie was elated to have a son, Ryan, and was completely torn apart when he died. She fell into a fit of depression and hasn't come out of it fully yet. The birth of Sophie helped a bit, but it just made Evie yearn for Ryan even more. Secretly, Evie is jealous that Addie has Sophie, but she won't admit it really. She's a nice, but distant grandmum to Sophie.
→ The Younger Sister -- June Aerin Montgomery: She's the bleeding heart poet and sensitive middle child of the family. She's very much "woe is me" and overly dramatic. She is an attention whore, which means she gets into a whole lot of trouble for stunts. Four years the younger, June is finishing up her last year at Hogwarts as a Hufflepuff. June and Addie never really got along as children. They had a shaky sisterly relationship because June was more empathetic towards people, and Addie was more focused on learning and studying. She didn't really care all that much about people. The sisters finally became close was June found out Addie was pregnant. Though she sympathized as to where Edward was coming from when wanting to disown Addie, June ultimately stood by Madison, which said numbers in Addie's book. The sisters ironically further bonded over the death of their brother, and then the birth of Sophie. June and Addie are good friends now-- of course they have their moments, but overall their relationship is much better.
→ The Baby Brother -- Ryan Owen Montgomery: Ryan was the baby of the Montgomery family. He was born in 1992, and he was a very unexpected child. Nevertheless, he was the only boy of the family and quickly captured his entire family's hearts. In the April of 1997, Ryan was attacked, malled and bitten by Fenrir Greyback because Evie Montgomery refused to help the Death Eaters. He died a week later in St. Mungo's Pediatric Ward from extensive injuries from the attack. Addie was eighteen at the time, and about eight months pregnant. The loss of her baby brother sent her into early labour, but the Healers were, luckily, able to stop it. Though Addie never thought of herself as close to Ryan, it was evident by her body's reaction to the loss of him that she was more attached than what she thought.
→ The Daughter -- Sophie Ryan Montgomery: Sophie Ryan Montgomery was born on 17 May 1997, about a year after Addie left Hogwarts. The girl is two years old going on three, and she is the light of Addie's life. She has strawberry blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Sophie has only ever known Addie to be in her life, and consequently, the little girl absolutely adores her mother. Sophie seems to have a desire to be just like Addie. She acts like Addie and tries to dress herself like Addie. Sophie is a happy child. She is well cared for, and rather spoiled actually. Addie feels bad about raising Sophie without a father, so her guilt directly fuels her spoiling her daughter. Sophie is friendly and very outgoing. She is the first kid to walk up to a complete stranger and strike up a conversation. Sophie is already showing a stylish side. She very much likes to wear pink and green, even if it's the dead of winter. Sophie loves to be around people, but she loves to be around Addie the most. The girl clings to Addie and hates to be separated from her. Addie is like Sophie's security blanket, and Addie is perfectly fine with that.

History: Madison Freya Montgomery was born on 9 September 1978. She is the eldest of the three children born to Edward and Evie Montgomery. She has a younger sister and a deceased baby brother, who died tragically at the age of five. Madison, who goes by Addie, grew up in the Montgomery family home located in Dover, England in a modest English family. Her father, Edward Montgomery, is a Pureblood, who is the descendant of a long line of Pureblood Ravenclaws. Her mother, Evie Montgomery née Smeeton, is a muggle-born witch, who was sorted into the Hufflepuff house during her Hogwarts days.

Addie was raised as any normal child. Evie insisted upon sending her to the muggle elementary schools. Addie was magical though, and did not make many friends while in school. Whenever something funny would happen, the children would blame Addie whether it was her fault or not. Consequently, Addie turned to books, colouring and the like for comfort and enjoyment. She became a rather large bookworm, and studied greatly for a child of her age. Addie was not a loner, rather just a child who did not want to deal with the children’s teasings.

At the age of eleven, Addie received her acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was enthralled, and could not wait to go where the other students would be just like her. Addie never felt she fit in before, so Hogwarts was like a light at the end of the tunnel for her. Of course, Addie had hesitations about leaving her family, especially her little sister, behind, but overall Addie could not wait to go to Hogwarts.

Addie boarded the Hogwarts Express in the late summer of 1989 for the first time. At the Sorting Ceremony, Addie was sorted into the Ravenclaw house, which made her father (and her father’s family) quite proud that she carried on the family tradition. Addie was hesitant to open up to the other students given her past relationship with peers. Instead, she remained very studious (like a good little Ravenclaw!) and focused on her studies for the first and second years of her Hogwarts career. She excelled greatly in all of her subject, save for Potions. Her best course was Charms, in which no other student received higher marks.

Addie’s third year marked her ability to add two more classes to her course load, which she fretted over. There were so many classes to possibly take, and it took her all summer to decide which ones to settle on. Finally, Addie picked up Arithmancy and Divination, only to discover how much she hated Divination. She suffered through the first term, though, and spent much time studying for Divination. No matter how much she studied, Addie could not succeed in the class. This was the first time Addie’s intelligence failed her. Addie had to turn to a different outlet for the first time, and the outlet she chose was making friends. Addie joined the Charms Club in her second year, and got involved right away as the treasurer of the club. Soon, Addie didn’t mind not being top in her class because she had something else to focus on.

Addie could not wait for her fourth year just so that she could drop Divination. It was very un-Ravenclaw of her to give up in a course, but she struggled greatly and did not want to put up with the subject for another year. Addie’s fourth year was about learning balance and time management. She studied religiously, like always, but now for the first time in her life, Addie had to factor in time for friends, as well as Charms Club. Addie would go from one extreme to the other. Time management did not come easy to her, to say the least. Not to mention that Addie’s thoughts were with her mother, who had announced around Halloween that she was pregnant. About seven months later, Ryan Owen Montgomery was born, which Addie had mixed feelings about. Luckily, this time, Addie had her friends to turn to for comfort and venting. Hence, the friends ranked studying in Addie’s fourth year.

Because friends ranked studying, Addie returned in her fifth year in a minor panic about her OWLs in June. Over the summer, Edward (her father) had lectured her about the importance of the OWL examinations, and he completely scared the shit out of Addie. Her entire first term, Addie spent locked up in the library to study as much as she could. Christmas holidays were spent cramming for the OWLs, as well. As the second half of the year progressed, Addie’s anxiety grew. Finally, around the Easter holidays, Addie had to go to the hospital wing because she had a slight mental breakdown. She was given Calming Potions to help her worry less, which her friends teased her about greatly. Once again, Addie felt as if she had failed herself. The summer after her fifth year was spent in a fit of depression (despite the fact that she received six ‘Outstandings’ and one ‘Exceeds Expectations’ on her OWLs).

Luckily Addie calmed down a bit over the summer, so that when she returned for her sixth year, she was ready and rearing to go. Addie signed up to continue Astronomy, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions and Transfigurations OWL-level classes in her sixth year. (The only class she dropped was History of Magic, which she received the ‘Exceeds Expectations’ in.) She still had no idea what the heck she wanted to do with her life, though. Instead, Addie attempted the balance and time management thing again, which she had a bit more success with this time around. Sixth year was a breathing year for Addie, which she was in dire need of.

Addie’s seventh year was all business and no play. The NEWTs were the most important examinations in Addie’s sixteen year life, and she wasn’t going to blow them either. Her friends, luckily, were on the same page. Their going to the library to study together was considered their “social time.” In fact, Addie and her friends rarely took breaks to eat and sleep following the Easter holidays. Nevertheless, seventh year was the year that Addie bonded the most with her peers and fellow Housemates. Though there was a bit of anxiety about her NEWTs, it was nothing like what she experienced in her fifth year over the OWLs. She had another minor breakdown, but it was still nothing that compared to her fifth year.

At the end of her seventh year, Addie was reluctant to leave Hogwarts. She had a minor mental breakdown (and surprisingly not over her NEWTs, which she ended up getting all ‘Outstandings’ on anyways) because she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. During this time, the good little Ravenclaw got drunk (off of firewhiskey) for the first time ever. Addie and her good mates decided to travel through Europe for the summer subsequent to their leaving Hogwarts. It was the most spontaneous thing Addie had ever done in her entire life.

At the end of August in 1996, the friends parted ways to “grow up” and start their “real lives.” But, before going, Addie got drunk once more, and ended up sleeping with one of her best mates* in her drunken stupor. Addie went off to London afterwards. It was literally a one night stand, nothing more and nothing less. She took a job in mid-September at St. Mungo’s as a receptionist for a Natural Healer, who mainly used Charms and alternative remedies other than Healing, but by mid-October, Addie became the Healer’s apprentice. She really loved what she was doing, and it was never a career she would have considered before.

But at the end of November, Addie’s world came crashing down. She had been consistently getting sick and feeling faint for the past couple of months when her boss (Healer DuPont) made her see a Healer. After a few routine spells and check over procedures, Healer Reynolds announced that Addie was three months pregnant! Addie was beside herself. She was twelve weeks pregnant, and she didn’t even know how that was possible. She had completely forgotten about her one night stand with her mate at the end of the summer. Addie was scared and ashamed. She had no idea what to do, so she sought the counsel of Healer DuPont, her boss. The Natural Healer (who was a bit of wanky) told her that it was a gift from Merlin that she was to have a child, which didn’t help Addie much at all. She was most scared to tell her parents, which would have to happen over Christmas because she was beginning to round over. (Her jeans wouldn’t even button anymore!)

Christmas of 1996 was an eventful one, to say the least. The focus was, of course, on Addie’s baby brother, Ryan, which made it even harder for Addie to tell her parents about her unplanned, out of wedlock pregnancy. Finally, on her last scheduled night at home, Addie pulled her parents aside to tell them. Of course, Addie’s father was highly disappointed in her. He threatened to make the father marry Addie, but then changed his mind and threatened to disown Addie. Her mother, Evie, was beside herself, but then took on the role of protector when Edward began going off on Addie like he did. It was evident that Evie was disappointed, but their family did not believe in abortion. Addie was going to have the baby, whether she liked it or not.

The winter of 1997 was a long, difficult one for Addie. She moved out to a two-bedroom flat in Surrey, which her mother paid for. She did not quit her job, but because of the pregnancy, she could not Apparate or Floo. Instead, every morning Addie would have to take the tube into London. It made for really early mornings and very late nights for the pregnant teenager (who was due in early May). Addie found out that growing a person was a lot more work than what she had assumed. Addie began to slow down immensely. She did not see any of her schoolmates any longer, as she did not want anyone finding out about the pregnancy (that and she didn’t have the time). Per her mother’s request, Addie did not tell the father about the child either.

In April of 1997, Addie’s parents were approached by a ban of Death Eaters for some information regarding the Montgomery family. When Evie refused to answer to the Death Eaters, Fenrir Greyback attacked Evie’s son, Ryan, during the full moon. He died in St. Mungo’s Pediatric Ward a week later. Though Addie was never all that close to her baby brother, the loss of Ryan sent Addie into early labour. She was only eight months pregnant, and was administered loads of Potions and prescribed strict bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy.

The month of May was a long one for Addie. She had a long, hard pregnancy and then an even longer, harder ninth month. Finally, after about fifty hours of labour, Sophie Ryan Montgomery entered the world in (DATE HERE). Addie lost a lot of blood in childbirth, and actually almost died because of complications. Fortunately, Addie lived and Sophie was a healthy baby without any problems, and soon Sophie became the light in Addie’s dark world. The strawberry blonde, blue-eyed baby (though not wanted at first) soon became Addie’s obsession.

After a three-month maternity leave, Addie returned to work as an apprentice to Healer DuPont in St. Mungo’s. DuPont was most understanding, and allowed Addie to bring Sophie to work with her (even if it did get a bit loud with a wailing child ever now and then), and for that Addie owes DuPont a lot. Addie remained in her two-bedroom flat in Surrey, even though it was most inconvenient at times. More often than not, Addie and Sophie would spend the night in the clinic at St. Mungo’s because she was too tired to go home on the tube. Though Evie tried to help Addie out, it was a bit too painful for her to be around Sophie after what happened to Ryan. Evie was always a bit jealous of Addie because she had Sophie and Evie had lost Ryan.

If you ask Addie, time has flown by too fast. Sophie is now two and a half going on three, of which Addie has no idea where that time has gone. She still lives in the same two-bedroom flat in Surrey, and still works for and with Healer DuPont. Sophie is enrolled in the St. Mungo’s daycare programme whilst Addie works at the clinic. Sophie is still the shining light in Addie’s life, even though she’s been going through the “terrible two’s” as of the late. Sophie is energetic, happy and bubbly, and loves her Mum more than anything.

Addie sometimes misses the fact that she missed out on her childhood (or rather young adulthood), and there are days that she wishes that Sophie didn’t exist. She is still as tired and dragging as ever, and has curves she never had before being pregnant. She also finds herself lonely, for she hasn’t kept in touch with her mates from Hogwarts. Addie wouldn’t trade Sophie for anything because she figures it will all be worth it at some point.

[* = If someone in-game would like to be the said mate, that would be absolutely fabulous!]

Occupational History: As stated above, Addie has worked in a clinic at St. Mungo's as an apprentice to Healer DuPont, who specializes in Natural Healing (think of that as alternatives to medicine in the Muggle world.. accupuncture, yoga, and the like) since September of 1996. Though she would really love to be a Healer for St. Mungo's, Addie does not have the time to go through her internship and residency because of her daughter, Sophie.

***Personality: Addie has a large need to prove herself. No matter what the feat is, Addie works her arse off because she will never be good enough for herself. Addie sheds new light on the phrase, “You are your own worst enemy.” Addie holds herself to a much high standard than anyone else does, and it is evident in the amounts of effort she puts into everything she does. Due to this need to prove herself, Addie is constantly trying to one-up herself. Even if she got the highest marks in her class, if it was not a perfect score, it could be better in Addie’s opinion. Because of this attitude, Addie is often stressed. She usually tries to load too much on her plate, and is too stubborn to admit when she can’t handle something. This is why Addie refused to cut herself some slack when she was pregnant with Sophie.

Addie always pushes herself to her physical, mental and emotional limits. She would be an INTJ on the Myers-Briggs Psychology Profile. She is organized and is a doer. Addie is constantly on the go and trying to do more things. She can never just sit and be. It actually makes her feel guilty to sleep at times because she lays awake in bed and thinks of all the things she could or should be doing. Needless to say, Addie doesn’t really get a lot of sleep because her mind is constantly going. She never cuts herself slack, and she can never fall below her own personal bar.. she will die trying rather than fall below that bar.

Though Addie had no idea what she wanted to do with her life, she has always been a career-driven and ambitious individual. She always knew that she wanted to get the highest marks possible on her OWLs and NEWTs because those are what mattered when looking for a job post-Hogwarts. Nevermind that she had no idea what that job was going to be, but she had a need for perfect scores. Her need for perfection is what drove Addie to freak out from time to time, and have her two mental breakdowns (her severe one and then her minor one at the end of her seventh year).

Plans for this character in game: Well, I'd love for Addie to reconnect with her Hogwarts friends, providing they're in-game. Other than that, I imagine Addie could be friends with Lily and Alice and the other Living Deads because they'll be around the same age(ish), so I think that would be pretty awesome if Addie could be friends them. Oh! And of course, I'd love to see Addie's sister in-game. (Joy, I think you're working on that, yeah?) But, that's all I've got for now. I placed her in St. Mungo's, so random run-ins are definitely probable (and I loooove random run-ins)!!
Where did you hear about us? I play Rose Zeller already! :o)
